Community partnerships
This month, as Memorial Pathway Academy continues its campus‑wide focus on celebrating the library and the essential role librarians play, a meaningful act of community support has added something special to Teacher Appreciation Week. Thanks to a growing network of library‑led partnerships, Chiloso Mexican Bistro – Casa Linda has generously volunteered to provide a Nacho Bar for MPA staff on May 7.
The donation includes everything needed for a full celebration: traditional taco meat, refried beans, queso, shredded cheese, fresh jalapeños, chips, plates, utensils, and all serving supplies. It’s a warm, thoughtful gesture that brings comfort and appreciation to the educators who serve MPA students every day.
This opportunity came through the library’s ongoing community outreach efforts. As part of her work to support both students and staff, Librarian Monica Black has been building partnerships with local businesses and organizations. These connections often benefit the campus in quiet but meaningful ways — from resources for student projects to moments of appreciation like this one. While the focus remains on the generosity of the vendor, the donation reflects how the library continues to serve as a bridge between MPA and the wider community. As we enjoy this generous donation, we encourage our staff to remember Chiloso when choosing where to dine — supporting the businesses that support us.
Acts like this highlight the power of collaboration. A local business offering a meal, a librarian fostering community ties, and a staff working tirelessly for students — together, they create a moment that reminds everyone at MPA that their work is valued.
Memorial Pathway Academy is grateful for Chiloso’s contribution and for the partnerships that continue to strengthen the school community. During a month dedicated to honoring libraries and the people who lead them, this donation serves as a reminder that the library’s impact extends far beyond bookshelves — it helps bring people together.
Parent volunteers
Dear Families,
At Memorial Pathway Academy, we believe that when parents and guardians join in, our school community grows stronger. We would love to invite you to share your time, talents, and ideas with us as a volunteer.
Whether it’s helping in the library, supporting classroom activities, assisting at events, or simply lending a hand when needed, every effort makes a difference. No matter how much time you can give—big or small—we truly appreciate it.
If you’re interested, please call to inquire or stop by the front office. Together, we can create more opportunities for our students to learn, grow, and thrive.
Thank you for being such an important part of our school family!
