Volunteer

Brenda Durden, volunteer, working with a small group of students.

Mrs. Brenda Durden serves as a volunteer at MPA. Mrs. Durden has an extensive background in corporate America. She currently works several days per week as a substitute at various GISD schools. When she is not working as a substitute, she enjoys making our campuses look great by working on bulletin boards, but her passion is working with students in the areas of reading and literacy. Recently, she volunteered at the MPA campus. She worked with small groups of students from Mrs. Nickerson's class. We appreciate you, Mrs. Durden, and we look forward to seeing you again, soon. Thanks for your interest in being an active part of our campus!

We would love to hear from other members of our community who would like to volunteer with us.

Volunteers supporting MPA

At MPA, we are serious about fostering community. We want our students to feel included at school and in our community. Our staff works to make sure our students know that they are cared for by staff and others. Through her position on the board of Parkland Hospital in Garland, Ms. Black is working with an organization called The LaDyz of T.R.U of OKC. They are an organization whose mission is to assemble in fellowship, charity, education, and work. They dedicate time, effort and resources to support local communities, organizational operations, and they contribute to charitable causes. This December, the LaDyz of T.R.U have agreed to sponsor three of our deserving students.

Ms. Black has selected several students who work hard and are examples of good role models. All of these students work hard in classes and demonstrate respect for others and themselves. By talking with their favorite teachers, we were able to come up with their holiday wish lists. We hope the gifts donated by The LaDyz of T.R.U of OKC will brighten our students' day and show them that they are recognized and appreciated by the community.
