School spirit & history
Montclair's history runs 40 years deep with Garland ISD.
Montclair, when opened in September 1968 had seven teachers, including Dr. James Delmar who was a teacher-principal. Within one week another teacher was added, and at the end of the year a ninth. Just under 200 students in grades 1-6 were enrolled when the school opened, and 261 were attending by the end of the school year. The first PTA meeting took place on September 19th with a total of 26 members.
Montclair has grown not only in size but in school spirit. Currently with more than 560 students , Montclair strives to add pride in every child, every day.
