What is the Clinical Program?

Our Health Science Clinical Program offers students a unique opportunity to gain real-world healthcare experience through clinical rotations at hospitals and medical facilities. Under the guidance of healthcare professionals, students engage in patient care, learning the fundamentals of medical procedures and healthcare services.

How to join

Students interested in joining the Clinical Program must first complete prerequisites, which include a science such A&P, biology & Principles of Health Science. Applicants should also demonstrate a strong academic record, maturity, and a genuine interest in healthcare. Applications are typically accepted during the spring semester of the sophomore year.

Promoting wellness

The Clinical Program helps promote wellness by emphasizing preventative care, patient education, and the importance of empathy in the healing process. Students learn how to assess patient needs, communicate effectively, and support overall health and wellness within the community.

Preparation for the future

Being involved in the Clinical Program helps prepare students for future healthcare careers by providing classroom lessons, real-life clinical experience, developing technical skills, and fostering professional behavior. Students graduate with certifications in areas such as CPR & first aid, giving them a head start in healthcare professions or further studies. And can be a pathway to GRCTC.
