Visual Arts
The art program is aimed at developing and instilling an awareness of aesthetic values and increasing the creative abilities of each individual. In an attempt to achieve this goal a diversified curriculum is offered which is designed to acquaint students with intellectual and sensory skills and experimental endeavors to afford students opportunities to develop qualities such as confidence, initiative and freedom of thought that can grow out of creative activity.
The art program provides background for the college bound student wishing to pursue art or art-related fields, for students interested in studio art as a vocation, as well as guidance for those students seeking a pleasurable activity for their adult leisure.

Naaman offers the following band classes:
Varsity band: Varsity band offers a fine arts credit required for graduation. The varsity band is designed for the advanced instrumental student who has proven through audition the ability to perform at an above average level in the areas of technical ability, sight reading, and audio perception. Students will continue to develop their technical ability and basic musicianship through the rehearsal and performance of the most demanding marching and concert band literature. Performances will include marching band performances, concerts, U.I.L. band contests, and U.I.L.. solo and ensemble contest.
Non varsity band: The non varsity band offers a fine arts credit required for graduation. Concert band is open to band students with some previous experience in band who desire to improve their abilities in technical, rhythmical, and musical aspects of playing their instruments. Preparations are made in the class for future auditions for more advanced bands as students are ready for these advancements.
Jazz band: The jazz band offers a fine arts credit required for graduation. This performance oriented organization is designed for the advanced musician who is interested in the study and performance of the many forms of jazz. Students must audition for this group and must maintain membership in one of the main band groups for membership in this ensemble. Students should expect to participate in rehearsals and performances outside of the school day. Exceptions may be made for vocalists with approval of the director. Performances will include school and civic functions as well as jazz competitions.
Woodwinds: Woodwinds offers a fine arts credit required for graduation. These chamber music groups are designed for the advanced instrumental student who has proven through audition the ability to perform above average on an instrument. Students must maintain membership in either the second band or the first band in order to be eligible for the instrumental ensemble class. The study and performance of various types of instrumental ensembles provide the main focus of this class. These ensembles may participate in U.I.L. contests as well as perform for school and community functions.

These chamber music groups are designed for the advanced instrumental student who has proven through audition the ability to perform above average on an instrument. Choir

The Naaman Forest High School Choral Department is an organization comprised of more than 150 students with the common goal of musicianship, excellence, and camraderie. Under the direction of Terrence Jennings and Angela Harper, the Naaman Forest Choral Department is extremely active with concerts and performances in the school and community throughout the year.
A Cappella Choir: The top choir in the Department, comprised of 68 auditioned voices.
Chamber Women: Our top non-varsity choir comprised of treble voices who have shown advancement in their musical abilities.
Women’s Chorale: Our entry treble choir for singers who are eager to learn fundamentals and refine their existing musical skills.
Men’s Chorale: Our non-varsity men’s choir comprised of young and developing men's voices.
First Edition: A highly select small pop music ensemble of vocalist and band members performing current and classic hits. Members of First Edition are selected by competitive audition and are typically also members of the Acappella Choir.
Renaissance: A highly select mixed acappella group performing early music, madrigals, motets, and partsongs, as well as more modern acappella choral works.

ACTING
Acting students focus on the development of performance skills through the study of theatre from the perspective of a variety of different cultures, styles, and approaches. Students explore performance as well as theatre literature, historical and cultural connections. Emphasis is placed on ensemble and collaboration in the creative process.

DUAL CREDIT
Collegiate Academy students earn college credit for Theatre Appreciation and Theatre History 1 while attending high school. These students develop creative problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills while being introduced to the basics of theatre and its basic history.

TECHNICAL THEATRE
Technical theatre students develop skills in both the design and implementation of the technical components of theatre, and grow student portfolios of their work. This includes publicity, sets, costumes, management, construction, presentation skills, lighting, sound, stage rigging, and more, each advanced though research combined with hands on experience.
