Math, Science, Technology Magnet (MST)

The Math, Science, and Technology Program at North Garland High School is designed to prepare high achieving students for advancement in an ever-changing, technological world. Students are exposed to an integrated curriculum that focuses on problem-solving and practical applications of math and science which better prepares them for college or employment.

Accelerated Math & Science Magnet (AMS)

The Accelerated Math & Science Magnet program provides students the opportunity to advance faster, allowing more math and science classes to be completed throughout high school.

Pathways in Technology Early College High School Magnet (PTECH)

PTECH is a new program beginning in the 2020-2021 school year. P-TECH, Pathways in Technology Early College High School, is a program where students will earn a high school diploma, an industry recognized associate degree, and gain relevant work experience.

At North Garland, our P-TECH partners include Dallas County Community College and industry representatives in the Medical and Computer Networking sectors.

Early College High School Magnet (ECHS)

ECHS is a new program beginning in the 2021-2022 school year. ECHS, Early College High School, is a program where students will earn a high school diploma, an industry recognized associate degree, and gain relevant work experience.

At North Garland, our ECHS partners include Dallas County Community College.

High School Expo and Magnet Fair

Each school year, GISD conducts the High School Expo and Magnet Fair where all eighth-grade families are invited to explore the various magnet program opportunities with representatives from the high school programs.

This highly recommended district event normally is scheduled to occur virtually on January 9th from 10am-2pm. For more information about the annual High School Expo and Magnet Fair, please visit the Garland ISD web site.


How to Apply

Please follow these steps to apply for magnet programs:

  1. Log in to Skyward Family Access during the application period (timeline available here).

  2. Choose the "online forms" option.

  3. Complete all required information.

  4. Apply for one or two different magnet programs.

If you are not currently a Garland ISD student, you must enroll before you can access the magnet application.
