Earn up to 60 hours of college credit and the opportunity to complete an associate degree while earning your high school diploma.

Program Overview

The North Garland Early College High School (ECHS) program combines the high school experience with college-level learning through our partnership with Dallas College Richland Campus. Beginning in 9th grade, students take dual credit courses that count toward both high school graduation requirements and a college degree. Students progress through a four-year course sequence designed to provide the opportunity to earn an associate degree by high school graduation.

Degree Options

Associate of Science (AA) 
Designed for students planning to pursue college programs in liberal arts, humanities, social sciences and related fields. 

Associate of Science (AS)
Designed for students planning to pursue college programs with a stronger emphasis in mathematics and science.

Eligibility & How to Apply

There is no minimum GPA or test score required to apply. The ECHS program is open to all GISD students entering 9th grade.

Each incoming ECHS cohort at North Garland is limited to 125 students.
