Stu-Co Food Drive

GISD Annual Canned Food Drive

Greetings Students & Faculty!

It is time for the GISD Student Council annual food drive!

Student Council will be collecting canned food donations from both A3 (3rd period) and B3 (7th period) classes starting October 30, 2017, and ending November 30, 2017.

The annual canned food drive is a wonderful opportunity to help our local community. Proceeds will benefit local Garland families who are experiencing financial challenges who might otherwise not have enough food during the holiday season.

YES, this is a competition! The top 2 A3 classes and the top 2 B3 classes that collect the most cans per student will win a special lunch!

Last year, North Garland High School had a fantastic donation year and placed 3rd place in GISD; this year we're trying to regain the first place trophy!

A Few Rules:

There are ways to score Bonus Points! *

On Mondays: Money Monday - money donations earn bonus points

On Tuesdays: Soupy Tuesday - bring cans of soup to earn bonus points

On Wednesdays: Veggie Wednesday - bring cans of vegetables to earn bonus points

On Thursdays: Bean"e" Thursday - bring cans of beans to earn bonus points

* Student Council must pick up the donations on the specified bonus day in order to score bonus points

A few DON'Ts:

Please, no tomato paste or tomato sauce donations. And please, no Ramen donations.

Canned Food pick-up will happen during A3 (3rd period) and B3 (7th period) starting Oct. 30 and ending Nov. 30.

Please bring cans only (other items will not be picked up).

If making a money donation, money donations will be collected through Nov. 29 only (to allow time to purchase canned food items).

Please remember this is for a good cause! Yes, it's a competition between B3 and A3 classes, but more importantly, this is a great opportunity to contribute to local families who are desperately in need of a helping hand.

Thank you! Please begin bringing your canned food item donations to your A3 class (3rd period) and B3 class (7th period) now!
