The primary goal of scholastic journalism is not only to create journalists but to develop capable employees and engaged citizens. Students learn and hone resume-building life skills, including time management, communication, working with a team, completing major projects, and more.

News Publications

Raider Echo is the online student-run publication.  Editors and staff members plan and produce all work. North Garland students and faculty are encouraged to submit letters to the editor and story ideas to ensure The Raider Echo staff covers the entire school community.

NGTV segments and shorts are created by the advanced broadcast journalism class. Students learn the basics of broadcast journalism and video production. Covering student life beats, students choose their story ideas and meet deadlines to produce weekly news announcements published to the North Garland High School Student Media YouTube channel.

Marauder Yearbook

The Marauder Yearbook is the official historical account of the school year. The student-led publication covers school-related and community events, capturing photos, stories, and moments to remember in

the yearbook. Students take all candid photos, design the cover and page layouts, interview valued sources, and write stories and captions to bring the yearbook to life.

Senior Portraits

Class of 2026 seniors must book their senior portrait session with CADY Studios at cady.com/schedule. The deadline for seniors to have their photo taken is December 20, 2025.
