Parking lot procedures

Side parking lot

We have a large number of buses and daycare vehicles. After school the driveway on the side of the school is reserved for bus use only. By allowing only these vehicles to use this driveway, the dismissal process runs smoothly.

Front parking lot

Please use one of the two outside lanes.  Pull your vehicle forward to the farthest available designated pick up spot.  Our staff will ensure that your child comes to you in your vehicle.  Each student will have a pick up card that parents will need to display in their vehicle every day during dismissal.

The middle lane is for passing into or out of the parking lot. Students are not to be drop-off/pick-up in the center lane. Parking is not allowed in any lane.

School visitors

Please check in at the front office when visiting our campus.

Grooming and dress

Students are expected to dress in a neat, clean manner and to exhibit good taste in selection of type and style of clothing. GISD dress code policy.

Tardies

Students are considered tardy if they are not in their classroom by 8:10 a.m. After 8:10 a.m. students must report to the office for a tardy permit to enter class. Tardy students should have a written note signed by a parent or guardian explaining the delay. Tardies are considered as a partial day absence.

Attendance

Please review our attendance policy.

Clinic Procedures and Health Information

Parents, if it is necessary that your child take medication during the school day, please come to the clinic with the medication. We are not allowed to give medication at school without written permission from you. If it is a long-term medication, we must have a Parent Permission Form completed & signed before we are able to give it. No over-the-counter medicines will be given without a prescription label on the container. Please refer to the Student Handbook or the Board Policy for any questions or concerns. Thank you for your cooperation.
