Pathfinder Achievement Center (PAC) staff understand the important connection between building relationships and academic achievement. As students build healthy relationships with staff, they become more comfortable in the school setting and more able to attend to academics and become successful learners.

Personal social skills

Through daily social skills lessons, students and teachers work together to build relationships through a variety of group games, activities, and team building exercises. Activities, such as building a tower out of marshmallows and uncooked spaghetti noodles, help our students learn teamwork and perseverance.

Job skills training

Vocational Staff at PAC are leading students in a business venture, where they learn skills needed in future employment. WolfCrafters was created so students could experience many aspects of business, from taking orders through delivery of the product. WolfCrafters create chain mail bracelets, by hand, using metal rings and are paid with money good at class stores. Students wanting to participate must complete a formal written application and be interviewed by the Vocational Adjustment Coordinator (VAC) teacher. Once hired, students are expected to follow standard rules of conduct they might experience in future jobs, to remain employed.

PAC PE program

The Cooper Institute® and United Way of Metropolitan Dallas have come together to promote health in schools with the Healthy Zone School Recognition Program®. This program gives schools resources to engage teachers, students, parents, and the broader community in a joint effort to improve the health of their communities.

PAC was selected as a Healthy Zone School for the 2018-2019 school year.
