Skills such as teamwork, problem solving, critical thinking and collaboration are essential for success. Our students are developing these skills in the classroom through innovative teaching and learning.

AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. The goal of AVID is to prepare students for college and success in a global society. We use AVID to bring out the best in students and close the achievement gap.

These strategies are used in daily lessons across entire grade levels. Our goal is to give all students access to a path to success.

AVID helps our students with:

• staying organized with binders and agendas

• learning note-taking skills

• building confidence

• increasing communication skills

• developing self-motivation

• learning in new, collaborative ways
