Parsons Pre-K was designed and built specifically for four-year old children. The library, gym, bathrooms and lockers are all specially sized for Pre-K children. Our teachers are trained and certified in early childhood development. 

As a student in Parsons your child will learn:

• to recognize colors, shapes, letters, and numbers.

• important social skills like how to pay attention in class and interact with other children.

• listening and speaking skills.

• early reading skills like how to hold a book, turn the pages, and to look at the pictures.

• basic math skills such as counting and measuring.

• develop skills in science, social studies, fine arts, and physical development.

Our biliterate Vietnamese teachers serve the linguistic, instructional, and affective needs of our Vietnamese bilingual students. They provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences, and enable students to develop competencies and skills, especially relating to English language development.

All students whose first language is other than English will enroll via the Manuel and Maria Valle Student Services Center office rather than the campus. This allows for language testing and other support for these students. See the Enrollment page for more information.

Parsons offers the One-Way Dual Language Spanish Program to support the academic and linguistic development of children who are learning in their first language while acquiring a second language.

Children that are ages three, four, and five-years-old with disabilities can participate in the Early Childhood Special Education Program or ECSE. These special preschoolers receive instruction in the developmental areas of pre-academics, communication, motor, self-help, and social/emotional development.

Garland ISD has partnered with Head Start to offer a free program for eligible families. Each classroom includes one teacher and two co-teachers, and instruction follows the GISD preschool curriculum.
