Library news

We’re happy to share that our Scholastic Book Fair, held November 10–15, was a great success. Thank you to all the parents, students, and staff members who supported the event by purchasing books. Your participation helped us continue building a strong reading community.

We’re excited to announce that a second Book Fair will take place in the spring. Thank you again for your support!

Library goal

Our goal at the Parsons Library is to instill a love of books and reading in our students and their parents, encouraging them to become lifelong learners.

Each child will check out one book for the first semester. For the spring semester, students may choose two books. The books will come home in a plastic bag with the child’s name and a barcode. We ask that parents and students make sure that the bag is returned with the book.

The importance of reading

If a child reads for 20 minutes every day, they are exposed to about 1.8 million words of text every year. That is 137 new words per minute!
