Principal
It is with great enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the newly appointed Principal of Pearson Elementary School. I am deeply honored and privileged to become a part of the esteemed Pearson community, renowned for its unwavering commitment to excellence and, more importantly, to the holistic development of our students. I am wholeheartedly dedicated to upholding this tradition of care and providing a nurturing learning environment for all our staff and learners.
With 24 years of experience in the field of education, I have served in various roles including teacher, counselor, assistant principal, and principal. My journey has led me to both high school and elementary leadership positions within Dallas ISD, where I have served as a principal for 5 years. However, my true passion lies in the formative years of elementary education, where I have found the most fulfillment as an elementary teacher, counselor, and principal. I am thrilled to embark on this new chapter as the leader of the Pearson Ponies.
Central to my educational philosophy is the unwavering belief that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. As a staunch advocate for children, I am committed to fostering a school environment where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed not only within our school community but also in the broader world.
I am immensely proud to be a part of the Pearson Community and am dedicated to building upon the existing strengths of Pearson Elementary.
On a personal note, I am a mother to a 22-year-old son named DJ, who is currently pursuing a career in education at Dallas College. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, attending sporting events, reading, watching movies, and cherishing moments with my family and friends.
I consider myself incredibly fortunate to be a member of this exceptional school community. I am eager to meet each of you, collaborate with you, and work together towards our shared goal of providing the best possible educational experience for our students.
Assistant Principal
I am so excited to continue my journey at Garland ISD as the assistant principal of this fantastic campus. The love and passion our teachers and staff members share at Nita Pearson is contagious, and I cannot wait to see how much our students are going to grow this year! My favorite part about being an educational leader is having the ability to visit classrooms and work alongside our teachers and students. I also love the opportunity administration provides to build stronger relationships with students and parents within our community.
I received my Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and my Master of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. I began my educational career teaching science just outside of Kansas City, Missouri and then continued as a science teacher for Lovejoy ISD in Lucas, TX. Most recently, I served as the assistant principal of instruction for Travis Elementary/Sixth Grade Center in Greenville ISD.
In my free time, I can always be found hanging out with my fur babies, Harper, Gus, and Sperry, while reading a good book. I also love traveling around the world and taking on new adventures with my husband, Jordan.
My goal as an educator is to provide a safe environment where students are offered the best educational experiences to prepare them for future opportunities. I am humbled to now be a part of your community as an educator and to help lay the foundation for those opportunities.
I am ready to work alongside the Pearson community to continue the tradition of educational excellence that Pearson holds, not only in the Rowlett community but in all of Garland ISD. Feel free to come by any time and say hello. I am here to serve in any way I can.
