Watch D.O.G.S (Dads of Great Students) is the father involvement initiative of the National Center for Fathering that organizes fathers and father figures in order to provide positive male role models for the students and to enhance school security. Our school has now joined the growing number of schools in GISD who are implementing this program. The Watch D.O.G.S is a unique program that allows father figures to spend some time with their child in the classroom as well as with other kids from other grade levels. They help by providing a positive male role model for children and help keep children safe during lunch and recess. in order to participate in this program, all applicants must have a full background check. For more information about this program, or any questions about parent involvement, please contact Mr. Jenkins at firstname.lastname@example.org or 972-463-7568.
Fourth and fifth grade students may inquire about participating in our Safety Patrol. Students are organized to help encourage safety in the parking lots before and after school.
Cartridges for Kids
Cartridges for Kids is a recycling program that raises money to provide printers, digital cameras and headphones for schools. If you have used printer cartridges, don't throw them away! You can bring them to the front office or send them to school with your student. We can turn your trash into money!
Box Tops for Education is sponsored by General Mills. This program helps schools earn cash for books, computers and playground equipment. We appreciate parents and grandparents who clip their Box Tips and send them to school! There is a monthly contest between classes! Class winners for each school cycle are announced at each awards assembly. Please cut and send your box tops with your student to class or deposit them in the office. Please be sure to include your child's teacher's name!
