Arts

At Pearson we are proud to say that we are one of the few GISD campuses that are into their sixth year of having an art program. We are excited to be able to offer art class to our Pearson students. In addition to an art program, our school has an award winning music program.

Music

Chiazo Akagha - Music Teacher

Music Teacher/Choir Director: Chiazo Akagha

In the music classroom, we sing, we make, we move, and we play! Learning music, cultures, history, theory, movement, and more through play and instruction is what we love to do in the music room. Each grade level shows what they know in the form of a program, our student led Variety Show, and/or their membership in Pearson Honor Choir (4th and 5th Grade only).

Pearson is full of students with innate skills or skills to be unearth. Make music with us at Pearson!

Honor Choir

Honor Choir performing

Pearson Honor Choir comprises of 4th and 5th Grade students who especially enjoy singing and playing music at a higher level. We travel to different GISD schools, 1 college, and assisted living facilities to spread our love for music-making to people.

Art

Kayla Varndell - Art Teacher
Art Teacher: Kayla Varndell

Pearson's Art classroom is one that hopes to inspire and spark our students' creativity. Learning about art that they see in their everyday life, to art inspired and created in different parts of the world, students will learn and create from these influences. Be on the lookout via our social media platforms for upcoming events and shows.

Pearson Art Club

Our 5th graders are invited to apply to Pearson's Art Club whether they love making art or just want to learn more about art. Be on the lookout for more information from Ms. Varndell via the school's social media platforms for updates on deadlines and meetings.

Donations

Please reach out to Kayla Varndell, Pearson Elementary's Art Teacher, about donations via her email.
