Early College HS magnet
What is ECHS?
Rowlett ECHS (Early College High School) has partnered with the Dallas College Richland campus to provide students an opportunity to earn both a high school diploma and up to 60 college credit hours. Cohort groups foster accelerated learning and provide support to develop academic and social skill necessary for college completion in a "school within a school" environment. GISD and Rowlett HS provides this dual credit opportunity at no cost to students, but seats are limited to 125 students each year. No testing or grading requirements are necessary to be in the ECHS program. Students must apply to participate in this program during the magnet application window. Magnet Application Process and Timelines
While there are no testing requirements for the Magnet programs at Rowlett HS, requirements vary by programs across the district and can include test scores, grades, art/music assessments and more. How to Apply
Please follow these steps to apply for magnet programs:
- Log in to Skyward Family Access during the application period (timeline available here).
- Choose the "online forms" option.
- Complete all required information.
- Apply for one or two different magnet programs.
If you are not currently a Garland ISD student, you must enroll before you can access the magnet application.
