Principal
Danitza Rivera Espinosa has proudly served Garland ISD for the past 20 years, dedicating her career to empowering students, supporting educators, and building strong school communities. Throughout her tenure in GISD, she has served as a second- and third-grade bilingual teacher at Park Crest Elementary and Weaver Elementary, as well as an itinerant bilingual Special Education teacher. Most recently, she has served as the Assistant Principal and now Principal of Routh Roach Elementary.
As Principal, Danitza has been committed to fostering an inclusive, engaging, and high-achieving school culture. She believes that strong relationships are the foundation of student success and works intentionally to build meaningful connections with students, staff, and families. Recognized for her dedication to instructional leadership, teacher development, and student achievement, she strives to create safe, supportive environments where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Her leadership is grounded in equity, collaboration, inclusion, and an unwavering belief in the potential of every learner.
Born and raised in Mexico City, Danitza earned her Bachelor's Degree in Communication Sciences before pursuing a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. Her educational journey reflects her passion for lifelong learning and her commitment to serving diverse communities.
Danitza is a proud mother of three children: Jose, a marketing professional; Dani, a registered nurse; and Andrea, a college student. She is a woman of deep faith whose joyful spirit is reflected in her love of music, dancing, and reading. She firmly believes in the power of kindness, the goodness of humanity, and every individual's capacity to achieve their dreams while making a positive impact on the lives of others.
Above all, Danitza is dedicated to ensuring that every student, staff member, and family has the opportunity to thrive in an environment that celebrates and nurtures their unique culture, identity, and potential. Through servant leadership and a deep commitment to educational excellence, she strives to inspire others to grow, succeed, and become the very best version of themselves.

Hello, everyone! I'm excited to begin another school year serving as your Assistant Principal at Roach. I truly believe that every child can succeed when we work together to create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
I have a passion for helping teachers grow, building positive relationships with students and families, and creating systems that help our campus thrive. One of my favorite parts of my job is celebrating successes—whether it's a student's accomplishment, a teacher's innovative lesson, or a team reaching a goal together.
This year, I'm looking forward to partnering with all of you as we support our students, celebrate their achievements, and continue building a school culture where everyone feels valued and inspired to do their best.
