Arts

I’m the new art teacher and this will be my first year of teaching ever. I’m so excited to make some fun and creative art projects with your child this year! I am very passionate about what I do and giving my students a creative outlet to express themselves. I love to give my students projects that will engage them as well as improve their knowledge of the arts! May the creative adventures begin!

A little bit about me; I’m from Southeast Texas where the food is either Cajun or Southern. I graduated from UNT in Denton this recent May, and I have two cats at home whose names are Bella and Autumn. I love to collect handmade ceramic mugs, especially if they are made by a local artist! I also keep an art journal that I like to put silly doodles in from time to time.

My goal as an art teacher is to show students that they can be creative. Not every student feels skilled in art, but my job is to provide them with a variety of different styles and mediums that help them find their own artist style and feel successful. I look forward to stirring up their creativity and helping them see their potential!

 Music

I am thrilled to be the music specialist at Routh Roach this year! My goal is to promote creative expression and to challenge and grow student's musical skills in singing, dancing, playing instruments, and improvisation. The 4th and 5th grade students also have the opportunity to join Honor Choir and to purchase recorders to expand their musical growth. In music class, students will create, imitate, explore, and be a participant in musical activities. Every grade level also performs for a PTA program, where the students will perform what they have been working on in class. If you would like to see what is going on in the music room, please follow our classroom on Instagram @ms.wrightmusic and on Twitter @MsWrightRRoach . I look forward to a wonderful year of teaching your child this year!
