Arts
We offer both Music and Art in our specials rotation.
Our music program helps students to grow in musicality, social skills and expression. We have the Honor Choir, for select 4th and 5th graders. Honor choir gets to learn music to sing as a group at different events around the city and at our school. Our school choir has performed at the annual Garland Christmas on the Square, the Pride of Texas Festival, and the choir contest at Hawaiian Falls and have received superior ratings.
The music program provides an outlet for every student to create, be expressive, and be able to have the tools to be music literate before they go to middle school. In music class, students sing, dance, play instruments and create music.
Our art program is where creativity and imagination happen every day. Lessons might include drawing, painting, coloring or crafting. These lessons help students explore concepts like color theory, texture, and composition in a fun, accessible way. As students work on their projects, they learn to appreciate art as a form of communication and self-expression, developing their fine motor skills and boosting their confidence. The art class is not just about creating; it is also about fostering a sense of community as students share ideas and give positive feedback to one another, all while discovering the joy of artistic exploration.
