Honor choir

The honor choir consists of 4th & 5th grade students who audition for the choir. The purpose of the Rowlett Elementary Honor Choir is to instill a love of music, and supplement the vocal education to those students.

Media team

Each morning, a dedicated team of 5th grade students coordinate and produce the Morning Announcements. They work the announcement software, adjust cameras, and input information, direct and record with minimal help.

Honor patrol

Honor Patrol is offered to 5th grade students only. Selection is on an application basis along with upstanding grades in every subject. The purpose of the Rowlett Elementary Honor Patrol is to instill and highlight responsibility, kindness, honesty, integrity, and respect towards fellow students and adults. Honor Patrol students are students within our school who are willing to strive beyond the regular expectations in our school and who are willing to put others first, instilling pride in others as well as themselves.

STEAM

STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. Our kindergarten through fifth-grade students participate in the STEAM challenge every year. Every grade level is assigned a different challenge. Some of the challenges have been building a car that powers with a rubber-band, building a rollercoaster, and building bridges. STEAM is for all types of learners with the goal of being more engaging and naturally successful. Students compete at school and district level.
