Band

Schrade Middle School students are offered multiple chances to participate in musical courses. While at Schrade Middle, students can progress from Beginning to Symphonic bands. Directors place a strong emphasis on learning both the basics of playing an instrument to mastering musical skills with private lessons offered by respectable, professional musicians. We want to not only prepare students for a future in High School Band, but also a lifetime skill to enjoy for years to come.

Michael Vasquez - Assistant Director

The Schrade Falcon Band has over 230 band students in grades 6 through 8. The program offers multiple chances to participate in various musical courses. While at Schrade, the directors place a strong emphasis on learning both the basics of playing an instrument and rehearsal procedures. It is our goal to not only prepare students for a future in High School Band, but also with a lifetime skill that they may enjoy for years to come.

Students in the Falcon band have the opportunity to participate in field trips, perform in concerts and in band competition. Our classes consist of three 7th & 8th Grade Concert Bands whose membership is based on musical ability. Beginning Band classes are divided into “like” instrument classes throughout the school day. and all band classes meet every day.

No experience is necessary to join band. We start everyone from the beginning. If you have never played an instrument or do not know how to read music, we will teach you everything you need to know. If you are interested in joining fell free to email one of the directors.

Choir

Schrade Middle School students are offered multiple chances to participate in musical courses. In choir, students have the opportunity to progress from beginning 6th grade choir to advanced 7th and 8th grade choirs. Students in the Falcon choir have the opportunity to participate in field trips, perform in concerts, and in choir competitions. No experience is necessary to join choir! If you have never been in a choir or do not know how to read music, we will teach you everything you need to know! We strive to develop singing and musical skills necessary to successfully participate in a choral organization both now and in the future.

Theater

Schrade Middle School offers our students three tiers of Theatre Education to expand their knowledge of the Fine Arts. Whether or not you plan to pursue theatre in high school, college, or after, our Theatre Curriculum will help students sharpen their interpersonal and intrapersonal skills that will no doubt make them better communicators, listeners, and individuals who can relate to others on a mature emotional level.

Theatre is a versatile art that will provide multiple platforms for those who wish to learn the techniques of performing and the intricacies of the technical aspects of theatre such as costumes, set, light & sound design, and stage management.
