About the Shark Choir program

The Sellers University Shark Choral program involves students that share an interest in music, singing, creativity, and performing. This organization is comprised of three ensembles:

  • 6th Grade Mixed Choir
  • Treble Choir
  • Boys Choir
  • A Cappella Choir

Sixth grade Choir students participate annually in the GISD 6th Grade Choral Festival, the Sandy Lake Music Festival, and have the opportunity to be involved in the Spring Musical. Seventh and Eighth grade students participate in the GISD Solo Contest, UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Contest, and other community concert functions. 7th and 8th grade students also have the opportunity to be involved in the Spring Musical as well.

We are all excited about this year's choral program. We are already off to a wonderful beginning! The Sellers University Choral Program offers every student many opportunities to deepen their musical appreciation through the study of music reading, music theory, music history and participation in a variety of performances. The goal of these quality musical experiences is to provide an aesthetically pleasing and positive means of self-expression while developing a lifelong love for music and the Fine Arts.
