Hello, my name is Michele Allen and it is with excitement and enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the new counselor at Sewell Elementary School! I have been in education for 21 years. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, with a Reading Specialization, at Texas Woman’s University and a master’s degree in School Counseling (K-12), at Amberton University. I taught kindergarten for 10 years, then served as an elementary school counselor for the past 11 years in Plano ISD.
I have been married to my husband, Chapin, for 33 years. We have 2 grown sons, Steven and Justin, who are successfully adulting in the Dallas area. We enjoy living out in the country with our 2 dogs, Dax and Wyatt, and a small flock of bougie, backyard chickens. We enjoy spending time with family and friends, listening to live music, and traveling.
I believe every child is deserving of a comprehensive education. As your school counselor, it is my mission to advocate, support and prepare ALL students by providing learning in social and emotional development, academic success, and college, career and military readiness. I believe that this can be achieved by building strong relationships with the students, staff, and families. I am so thrilled to join the Sewell family and look forward to supporting all of our students to be resilient, life-long learners, reaching their fullest potentials.
