GISD high school course guide

Listed below are required courses and electives for grades 10-12. For more information on the various courses that students can take and the various levels of high school diplomas offered to GISD students, please refer to the GISD High School Course Guide .

Garland ISD 21st Century Scholar

This program awards students who have made a commitment to complete a challenging curriculum plan. Students will receive an academic medal their senior year.

Requirements to be a Garland ISD 21st Century Scholar:

  1. Complete the State Recommended or Distinguished Achievement Plan for graduation.
  2. In addition, complete either one full credit of the 3rd year (level three) of a language other than English OR one full credit of an advanced course (Advanced Placement, Dual Credit, or International Baccalaureate) not already required for graduation.
