Red Ribbon Week: Making Safe Choices Together
Officer Adams visits classrooms during red ribbon week.

This week, Shorehaven Elementary is proudly celebrating Red Ribbon Week, a nationwide campaign that promotes healthy, safe, and drug-free lifestyles. Red Ribbon Week serves as a reminder to make positive choices and to stand strong against pressures that can lead to unsafe or unhealthy habits.

At the elementary level, Red Ribbon Week plays an important role in teaching students the foundations of making smart decisions early on. Through engaging lessons, themed days, and classroom discussions, students learn that living drug-free starts with respecting themselves, caring for their bodies, and choosing safety in all situations.

As part of the celebration, Officer Adams has been visiting each classroom to talk with students about drug safety, making responsible choices, and staying safe during Halloween. These important conversations help empower students with knowledge and confidence to stay safe—whether it’s understanding the dangers of drugs, knowing how to respond to unsafe situations, or remembering safety tips while trick-or-treating.

Shorehaven Elementary is proud to help our students grow into strong, healthy, and responsible individuals.
