
On October 24, 2025, Shorehaven Elementary proudly celebrated earning an “A” campus rating from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) with a special banner unveiling ceremony. The event recognized the hard work and dedication of students, teachers, and staff in achieving this outstanding accomplishment.
The celebration began with an exciting performance by the Sellers Middle School Band Drumline, under the direction of Mr.Knagg. Their high-energy beats filled the air and set the tone for an afternoon of pride and celebration. Shorehaven students and staff were thrilled by their performance, and the school extends heartfelt thanks to the drumline for helping make the event so memorable.
Fifth-grade student ambassadors proudly welcomed several special guests to the celebration, including GISD Trustees, Director of the Office of Innovation Jacob Nunez, Executive Director of Leadership Jason Wheeler, City Council Representative Kris Beard, Executive Director of Leadership Dr. Charmaine Curtis, and Chief Leadership Officer Dr. Ira Perales.
During the assembly, Principal Dr. Saenz and Assistant Principal Mrs. Huff unveiled the school’s new banner, symbolizing Shorehaven’s extraordinary achievement—an A rating along with five academic distinctions:
