Meet our coaches

Coach Erickson: Physical Education Teacher

Hello, I am Coach Erickson and I have a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Texas A&M University–Commerce and am certified in First Aid and CPR.

This is my 30th year in education. I spent my first 10 years teaching 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades before moving into PE, where I’ve spent the last 20 years at Shorehaven.

I’m passionate about helping students build physical skills, develop teamwork, and enjoy being active. My PE classes focus on fun, inclusion, and encouraging a healthy lifestyle.

Interests: I enjoy traveling—especially cruises!

Mr. Duke: Physical Education Aide

Hello, I am Mr. Duke and I'm currently in Dallas college to become a bilingual teacher.

I've worked in Garland ISD for six years with this being my second year at Shorehaven.

The best part about working at Shorehaven is getting to see all of the students grow and learn together. They teach me as much as I teach them.

Interests: Boxing, movies, and learning Spanish

PE Dress Guidelines

To help keep students safe and active during PE, please follow these guidelines:

  • Tennis shoes are required on PE days. For safety reasons, Crocs, sandals, boots, and dress shoes are not allowed.
  • Students may bring tennis shoes in their backpack to change into before class if needed.
  • Clothing should be comfortable and easy to move in.
