Dear Sachse High School Class of 2020 Families:
As schools across Texas have closed in order to stop the spread of COVID-19, Garland ISD high schools have had to make difficult decisions about graduating student celebrations. One of these very tough decisions includes cancelling prom.
We know that this is a major disappointment for our students and community, but we must make decisions that put the safety, well-being, and continued good health of those we serve as our top priority.
You will be receiving a refund for the prom, senior luncheon and the senior field trip in the form of a check that will be cut by GISD.
Our community has truly come together in many ways during this unprecedented pandemic to celebrate the Class of 2020. We look forward to honoring our graduates with a live ceremony, at Globe Life Park, in June. You can visit the Garland ISD graduation webpage at Graduation ceremonies for more information.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any questions you have. I can be reached at A010@garlandisd.net.
Shae Creel, Principal
Sachse High School
Your voices matter to us, and we’ve heard them. In our recent survey, our tri-cities voted unanimously to have in-person graduation in some form. We are excited to meet this request for our community.
To be able to host more attendees at our in-person graduations, we have changed venues to Globe Life Park in Arlington. Graduates will now have six tickets and the event will be live-streamed. Dates and times have changed to match the new venue.
Visit our graduation ceremonies page for all the event details. We look forward to celebrating the Class of 2020 in-person with you all.
