About the Director: Diane Craig
Ms. Craig is thankful for the opportunity to promote community service, teamwork and ladylike conduct in a team environment that creates a dance family and sisterhood with the Sachse High School Swingsters, Lariats and Sachse K Dance Company.
Ms. Craig attended Stephen F. Austin State University where she was an SFA Pom Squad member, serving as Captain her senior year. She led the team in winning the NCA Collegiate Dance National Championship which was the first win in the history of the SFA Pom Squad. While attending Stephen F. Austin, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Dance as well as her Master of Education in Secondary Administration.
Her teaching career began at Corsicana High School where she served one year as the assistant drill team director for the Calicos. She then served four years as the head director for the Cedar Hill HighSteppers.
Celebrating fourteen years with the Hebron High School Silver Wings, she had the honor of opening the school in 1999. She is humbled at the accomplishments of the Silver Wings under her direction including seven National Championships at Marching Auxiliaries, HTE Dance and American Drill Team School. Under her direction, the Silver Wings participated in the Super Bowl halftime performance and the Tournament of Roses Parade Opening Dance Number in LA.
Ms. Craig directed the Granbury Dance Team in winning American Drill Team School Nationals for her eighth championship. In the five years with the Granbury High School Stowaways Dance Team, she had the honor of directing the Stowaways in the Aloha Performance Team at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii in 2016 and 2018.
Ms. Craig is currently in her fourth year at Sachse HS where she is currently directing the Swingsters and Sachse K Dance teams. Honors such as Highest Scoring Team, Solo Champions, Best in Class, Grand Champion and National Championship titles have been earned. The Swingsters recently returned from Hawaii as part of the Aloha Performance Team at Pearl Harbor. Ms. Craig created a World Dance Company, the K Dance Team at Sachse in 22-23.
