Working with small groups

Librarian working with small groups

Librarians have many responsibilities, and much of what they do can happen in the library. They may teach students about technology, digital citizenship and of course, how to choose the right books. However, school librarians do work in other areas of the building. Many librarians co teach in classrooms. It is not unusual to see a librarian, whose schedule allows it, working side by side with teachers in classrooms. Many librarians work with small groups of students in classrooms or in school libraries. Often, they use their specialized knowledge and training to help students prepare for standardized tests like STAAR. If a teacher needs a helping hand, just reach out to the school librarian. They are willing and ready to help.
