The Shugart family would like to introduce long term substitute, Terri Doggett. Doggett has chosen to work in the position of ALE teacher. She graduated from the University of North Texas at Dallas with a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. She has years of experience in the education field, and she continues to take professional development classes to remain prepared to meet students' needs. Doggett loves teaching. Her passion includes working with special education students and the elderly. She serves on the executive board of the NAACP for Religious Affairs and she coordinates the annual MLK parade in Garland. Doggett is heavily involved in her church, the Pentecost Church of Garland. She works tirelessly as youth director and with other groups in the church and serves as President of the community Rainbow Neighborhood Association.
Doggett loves cooking and spending time with her family. She has two adult sons. One works in the insurance industry and the other works in music as an entertainer. When asked why she chose to work at Shugart, Doggett said, " My mission as a teacher is to help each student discover the joy of learning and develop a strong belief in his or her own abilities." We are very lucky to have Terri Doggett working with us, and we appreciate her so much.
