Our Shugart parents, families and friends are some of our greatest school assets. Teachers, PTA and classrooms are often in need of volunteers to count, sort, collect or cut items.  Classroom teachers and the librarian are looking for persons willing to read to their students. Think of your special talent and consider sharing with us. If you are interested, please use this volunteer form or pick up a form in our school's office.  Please allow two weeks for the application to be processed.

Much needed donations

In order to promote creative thinking skills, the librarian often engages students in maker space and other creative learning projects. The following are items that we use often. Parents are encouraged to donate the following items if they can:

  • large straws
  • small, hot glue sticks
  • different colors of duct tape
  • pipe cleaners
  • small pom poms

Class party volunteers

Shugart's classrooms have class parties twice a year. This year, students will have a holiday party on December 20 and a Valentine's party on February 14.  Teachers would love to have parents help in the classrooms during these fun events. Parents can help by passing out food, helping with crafts, and playing games with the students. Please check with your child's teacher about the best way you can help create fun memories during these celebrations!
