Greetings!

My name is Ms. Wheeler and I am the new music teacher at Southgate! This year is the start of my 21st year of teaching. I have a Bachelor of Music and Master of Education. I have taught in the Dallas area, Houston area, and Central Texas area. I have a passion for teaching children the value of music and how they can apply it to their life. Some of the instruments I play are the piano, saxophone and clarinet. I strive each day to provide a fun and safe learning environment for my students. Some things we will do this year are music theory, learn music vocabulary words and perform independently and as a class. I am excited to get to know you and your child, and I am excited to be at Southgate!

Art

Hello! My name is Ms.Muniz and I am the Art Teacher here at Southgate STEM! I have always loved art in every form, and I am very blessed that I get to spread my love and joy for art to my students and hopefully help them love and enjoy art as well! This is my second year teaching art at Southgate and I am very excited to continue working with our students by helping them learn and refine their art skills. In Art class, students will get the opportunity to learn about famous artists, art vocabulary and skills, and will get to reflect their learnings into their artworks and projects. I look forward to an amazing year with our students and watching all of the wonderful pieces they create!
