Meet Our Principal, Angie Ariza

Welcome to Spring Creek Elementary! As I enter my third year as your Principal—and my 17th year with Garland ISD—I am thrilled to continue serving this wonderful, vibrant community.
Over my 21-year career in public and private education, I’ve had the privilege of teaching in North Carolina, Colombia, Northern Virginia, and internationally at the Shanghai American School. These diverse experiences shaped my core belief: educational growth is essential for a thriving society, and every student deserves an inclusive space to succeed.
After transitioning to instructional coaching in 2017, I served as Assistant Principal at Montclair Elementary and Principal at Williams Elementary before finding my home here at Spring Creek. My mission is simple: to foster a culture of excellence where every child feels valued, capable, and loved.
On a personal note, my greatest joy is my family. I am blessed with my husband, Fernando, our two daughters, Chelsea and Maria, and my two wonderful grandsons, Matteo and Lorenzo.
Leading Spring Creek is an absolute honor. I look forward to partnering with you to ensure our students thrive and make a positive impact on the world. Let’s create an inspiring space, together!

Meet Our Assistant Principal, Austin Escobedo

Now entering my eighth year in education, I am proud to have spent my entire career serving the students, staff, and families of Garland ISD. After beginning my career as a Campus Technology Assistant, I transitioned into the classroom at Hickman Elementary, where I taught both lower and upper elementary, specializing in math and science. Along the way, I earned my Master's degree in Educational Leadership to expand my impact and better support students, teachers, and families.
I am honored to begin my third year as Assistant Principal at Spring Creek Elementary. My goal is to foster a collaborative, student-centered campus where every child feels valued, challenged, and supported, while empowering teachers and partnering with families to help all students reach their full potential. I believe strong relationships, high expectations, and a commitment to continuous growth are the foundation of a thriving school community.
Outside of school, my wife, Juanita, and I welcomed our first child last year, a beautiful little girl named Luccia, who has brought so much joy to our lives. We also enjoy spending time with our dog, Bella, visiting family in Chicago, traveling, and whenever possible, spending a sunny day on the golf course.
I look forward to another great year of learning, growth, and partnership with our Spring Creek families. Go Scorpions!
