Policies & procedures

Dismissal

All parents must show a dismissal card to pick up their child. You will be given a colored car tag for your child for your car window or to use when walking to pick-up from the building. If you do not have a card please park in a parking spot and bring your valid ID to the office. For 1st - 5th grade students, if you are a parent walk-up, you must park off-campus and walk up to the school with your child's dismissal card to pick them up. If you choose to utilize the car line, put your car tag in the window for the staff member to call for your child. If your child is in PreK or Kindergarten, your child will be released to you on the gym side of the school. If you have any questions please contact the office.

Absences

Absences from class may result in serious disruption of a student's mastery of the instructional materials; therefore, the student and parent should make every effort to avoid unnecessary absences.

  • Students who are not physically in the classroom at 10:00 a.m. must be marked absent.

  • Parents should send a handwritten note to the school attendance office within three days of returning to school that includes:

    • A written statement giving the date and reason for the absence(s)

    • Parent/Guardian name

  • Within three days of returning to school, a student for more than 3 consecutive days because of a personal illness must bring a statement from a doctor or health clinic verifying the illness or condition that caused the student's extended absence from school. Otherwise, the student's absence may be considered unexcused, and would be considered in violation of compulsory attendance laws.

  • Protocol for non-attendance

Visitors

All visitors to the building must report to the school office and present a valid state or government issued photo identification card which will be scanned using the Raptor system. Everyone who checks in at the front office will be given a name tag. Any person in the building without a name tag will be directed back to the office. This is for the safety of everyone in the building.
