Policies & procedures
Grooming/dress code
Stephens Elementary does not have uniforms, however, we do follow the district guidelines when it comes to proper grooming and dress code needs of our students.
Attendance policy
When your child misses school for any reason they must bring a note from parent/legal guardian stating the reason why they were absent. Please make sure to add the date your child was absent along with their student ID number. If your child is absent for more than three days in a row they will need to have a doctor's note.
Please remember that no student can miss more than 18 days in one school year.
Stephens drop-off / dismissal map
Pre-K and special programs please follow the orange arrows at the front of the school on Cheyenne drive. Pre-K will pick up and drop off in the back of the school next to the playground. Drop off is open until 8:05 am, then parents will have to park up front and bring your student in (ID REQUIRED FOR ANY PARENT IN THE BUILDING). SPED busses will follow the blue arrows to the back of the building for both drop off and dismissal.
Buses, Daycares & Shuttles, will follow the Yellow arrows from Cheyenne drive, to the front of the school. The front of the school IS NOT for student drop off UNLESS you are tardy (after 8:10am), in which case the parent/guardian will need to park in the front parking lot and walk their student inside the building to the front office, with ID ready.
Parent drop-off please follow the red arrows, entering from Miller road, past the teacher parking lot and to the side entrance of the school. YOU MAY NOT drop your students off in the front of the building, this is for Busses, Daycare, and Shuttles ONLY.
Birthdays and celebrations
Per state regulations, cupcakes or any food given to all students will not be allowing during lunch times.
Please help our campus preserve the instructional time each day. We need to remind everyone that birthday celebrations only occur at the end of the day. You may bring cupcakes only. Please do not bring pizza, balloons, or other snacks. The office staff will deliver the cupcakes to the classroom around 3:00pm. We do not allow parents to enter classrooms during this vital time of our instructional day. Please keep in mind that all food items must be store bought and cannot be homemade. Please make sure you notify the teacher that you would like to bring birthday cupcakes.
Lunch visitors
We know how special it is for a student to have a special adult come up and eat lunch with them. Look for special days when you can join your child during lunchtime. Please call our front office if you need additional information regarding lunch with students.
Online student services requests
Do you need to enroll your child, request a transfer, withdraw or request a transcript? It's easy to start common processes at home. Visit the Online Student Services page to get started.
