Mrs. Cruz’s second grade class recently brought science to life in the most exciting way—by raising butterflies right in their classroom!
Students began their journey by observing tiny caterpillars and learning about their life cycle. Over the course of several days, they carefully watched as the caterpillars grew, formed chrysalises, and eventually transformed into beautiful butterflies. This hands-on experience gave students a deeper understanding of metamorphosis and the importance of patience and care in nature.
The project concluded with a special outdoor release, where students had the chance to set their butterflies free. It was a joyful and memorable moment as they watched their hard work quite literally take flight!
