Administration
Principal - Roger Ceballos

Dear Walnut Glen Academy of Excellence Community,
My name is Roger Ceballos, and I am honored to serve as the principal of Walnut Glen Academy of Excellence, now proudly in my second year in this role.
Before entering education, I proudly served our country in both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps as a medic, where I completed two deployments. My military experience taught me the importance of service, leadership, and resilience—values that continue to guide me in my work as an educator and school leader.
This year marks my 18th year in education. I began my journey as a middle school science teacher, where I was proud to be named Teacher of the Year in 2013. That recognition launched my path into educational leadership. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of serving as an administrator at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, giving me a well-rounded understanding of student needs across every stage of their academic journey.
I believe deeply that elementary school is the heart of education—where curiosity is first sparked and a lifelong love of learning begins. At Walnut Glen Academy of Excellence, we are committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where students are excited to come to school and thrive.
I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together. Walnut Glen Academy of Excellence is now in its second year as the #1 campus in our district, and this year, we were honored to be ranked 15th out of 4,900 elementary schools in the State of Texas. These accomplishments reflect the hard work of our students, the dedication of our staff, and the incredible support from our families and community.
Beyond my professional role, I’m a proud father to a middle school son and a college-aged daughter. I understand the hopes and expectations parents have for their children, and I am committed to working in partnership with our families to ensure each student’s success.
Thank you for trusting Walnut Glen Academy of Excellence with your child’s education. I look forward to another amazing year filled with growth, achievement, and community.
Warm regards,
Roger Ceballos
