Students should be in attendance daily unless ill. When a student is absent, a written statement, signed by the student's parent or guardian giving the date and reason of absence should be brought to the office upon returning to school.

In order to make our arrival and dismissal procedures work smoothly, considering the limitations of parking on our campus, please follow the guidelines below.

If you plan on dropping your child off in front of the school:

• Enter Celeste Drive from First Street/Broadway only.
• Drive down First Street/Broadway.
• Turn down Celeste Drive to enter the school in order to avoid congestion and help our arrival procedures run smoothly.

If you choose to park your car, please remember that you will need to a find spot in the neighborhood and walk to the campus. This will be most effective if you park on the other side of Dairy Lane on Vista, Monica, or Calvin Drive and then walk to our campus.

Please avoid parking on Celeste Drive, or in front of our school as this will hinder other parents from moving through the drop-off line. Celeste Drive is one-way during arrival and dismissal hours and will be monitored by Garland PD.

Parents can drop-off store bought cupcakes for birthdays by 9:00 am.  No exceptions

Watson MST uses the PikMyKid app for dismissal.  Information for this app will be sent out via email as well as hard copies.  Please note:  Beginning the 2^nd week of school, those parents who do not use the PikMyKid app will be asked to park and wait. All parents should plan to pick up their students at 3:30.

• Students in grades K and 5 will be dismissed in the back of the building. If these students have any siblings, they will also be dismissed with together in the back of the building. Parents can access this area by driving down Dairy Lane and turning into the road leading to the back of the campus.
• Students in grades 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be dismissed in the front of the building.

Please plan on driving down First Street/Broadway and then turning down Celeste Drive to enter the school in order to avoid congestion and help our dismissal procedures run smoothly. Our staff will be waiting to assist you and escort your child to your vehicle. Celeste Drive is one-way during arrival and dismissal hours and will be monitored by Garland PD.

Parents are encouraged to stay in their cars for dismissal procedures and refrain from parking in front of the campus and on Celeste Drive.

Students will be notified by their teachers as to the specific dress they will need to wear on that day.

Free dress days will be announced throughout the year. Students will be allowed to wear clothes other than their standardized dress on these days. No pajamas, halter tops, or T-shirts with inappropriate logos will be allowed. Please help your child to choose clothing that is appropriate for school.

On Fridays, students are allowed to wear blue jeans or jean shorts and any Watson T-shirt or Watson Sweatshirt. The students may also wear their standardized dress on Friday. Jeans worn to school must be the appropriate length and fit properly. Jean shorts must be fingertip length. No jean shorts with the hem cut off are allowed.

Campus will be open for lunch on Thursdays and will be limited to no more than 2 adults.  No siblings will be allowed. No exceptions. Parents can send “outside food” as long as it is with them in the morning.  No drop-offs are allowed during the school day.

If your child will receive medications and/or treatments at school please call for an appointment to see the Nurse.

Please bring:

1. Written doctor's order for medication and/or treatment.
2. Signed parent permission-medication policy.
3. Medication and/or supplies for treatment. 

All students must wear a belt with the pants or shorts. All shirts must be tucked in. White, navy, or red socks or tights are permitted. Shoes must be closed-toe with flat heel and rubber soled. No sandals are allowed.

Standardized Dress is required for all students in Kindergarten through Grade 5 at Watson. The standardized dress that is required for Watson students can be purchased at most clothing stores (i.e.Target, JC Penny, Walmart and Kohls).

Girls:

• Red, navy, or white polo style shirt
• Khaki or Navy pants, shorts, or skorts
• Plaid skirt or jumpers
• Shirts must be tucked in and a belt worn

Boys:

• Red, navy, or white polo style shirt
• Khaki or Navy pants or shorts
• Shirts must be tucked in and a belt worn

Students arriving after 8:10 a.m. are counted tardy for the day. If your child accumulates more than 3 tardies for the school year, he/she will not be eligible for perfect attendance.

All visitors must sign in and out through the front office. All visitors must wear name badges while on school premises.
