Author Visits

our librarians

Delma Defoor, Librarian

Pauline Cougot, Library Assistant

Library Hours 8:10a.m. - 3:10 p.m.

We were so excited to have the privilege of hosting famous author, Susan Stevens Crummel recently in our Watson library. She shared her love of writing children's books with our students and inspired some future authors to follow their dreams. We had a wonderful time acting out some of her stories and learning about her creative process. We look forward to seeing what amazing works of art she creates in the future!

Playaways

The Watson Library offers audio books! Students in grades 3rd - 5th are welcome to check out the Playaways (audio books) as soon as they fill out the agreement form and bring it back to the library. If you have any questions about this exciting new program please contact Mrs. Defoor. Building a love for reading can take on all forms in our 21st century library!

Books

Of course, what would any library be without good books?? Watson keeps it's library up to date with the latest books that kids enjoy along with all the great classics. Students enjoy library time every week, with the bonus of a librarian who knows all about their passions and can connect that to old classics and new releases!

Furniture

With the success of last year's Boosterthon Fun Run, we were able to add some updated furniture to our library. Check out the new comfortable places our Watson Wildcats can curl up with a good book!

Texas Bluebonnet Award

The Texas Bluebonnet Award reading program was established in 1979 to encourage reading among 3rd to 6th graders. We encourage our students to read as many as they can. Grades 3 to 5 will read five during their library time. Please visit the list of current nominees. Students reading five of the nominees will be able to vote for their favorite in January.
