Physical Education

Welcome to PE! My name is Janna Hockett, and I am your child's Physical Education teacher. As a dedicated and passionate Physical Education teacher, I strive to promote lifelong health and fitness, teamwork, and personal growth in every student. With 9 years of experience teaching, I create engaging and inclusive programs that develop physical skills, confidence, and healthy habits.

My teaching philosophy centers on encouraging effort over perfection, building a positive attitude toward physical activity, and helping students discover the joy of movement, whether through team sports, individual challenges, or fitness routines. I believe every student can succeed when given the right support and opportunities.

I hold a B.A. in Literary Studies with a minor in History from The University of Texas at Dallas. I hold certifications in PK-12 Physical Education, Secondary English (6th-12th grade), Secondary History (6th-12th grade), and CPR. Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, working out, hiking, and staying active in the community.

Kickball season

This year, we are excited to try something new.  4th and 5th grade will play a kickball season during class on Wednesdays.  There will be six teams from the 4th grade and six teams from the 6th grade.  They will play 5 games during the season.  We are excited to try something new!
