Principal, Dr. Claudia Sáenz

I feel blessed, honored, and humbled to serve the MD Williams community. I am committed to working alongside our students, staff, families, and community members to ensure that every child receives the support and opportunities needed to reach their highest potential. I firmly believe that all children can learn, and I am dedicated to helping every student achieve academic, social, and emotional success.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with an EC-4 Bilingual Teacher Certification, a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies with a Dual Language Emphasis from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M University–Commerce.

My educational journey began 20 years ago in the incredible Garland Independent School District. I served as a bilingual teacher at Routh Roach Elementary for nine years, followed by six years as an assistant principal at the same campus. I then had the privilege of serving as principal of Golden Meadows Elementary for three years and most recently as principal of Shorehaven Elementary for the past two years. Today, I am honored to continue my leadership journey as the principal of MD Williams Elementary.

At MD Williams, we are committed to fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and supportive learning environment that values diversity, promotes high expectations, and focuses on the success of the whole child. Together, we will work to ensure that every student feels valued, challenged, and inspired to achieve their very best.

It is truly a privilege to be part of the MD Williams family. I look forward to partnering with you as we create meaningful learning experiences and make this school year a success for all students.

Assistant Principal, A shley Arias

I am Ashley Arias, and I am thrilled to be serving as the new Assistant Principal at Williams Elementary School. My journey in education spans 14 fulfilling years, during which I have dedicated myself to fostering a supportive and enriching learning environment for students.

My educational foundation began at the University of Houston, where I earned my undergraduate degree. Motivated by a passion for leadership and educational excellence, I pursued and obtained a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas.

My career in education has been diverse and rewarding. I started as a classroom teacher, where I had the privilege of shaping young minds and helping students discover their potential. Over the course of 10 years, I served as both a teacher and an interventionist, focusing on providing targeted support to students who needed it most. Additionally, I served as a community and parent instructor, bridging the gap between home and school to ensure a cohesive educational experience.

Transitioning into administration, I am now in my 4th year as an Assistant Principal, a role that allows me to continue my passion for student success from a leadership perspective. My tenure in education totals 14 years, and I am proud to say that 7 of those years have been spent contributing to the vibrant community of Garland ISD.

My approach to educational leadership is rooted in collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to fostering a nurturing environment where every student can thrive. I believe in the power of education to transform lives and am dedicated to supporting both students and educators in reaching their highest potential.

I am excited about the opportunity to serve the Williams Elementary School community and look forward to working together to ensure every student receives a quality education in a safe and supportive environment.

Assistant Principal, Vanessa Huff

Hi! My name is Vanessa Huff, and I am proud to serve as an Assistant Principal at M.D. Williams Elementary. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and my Master of Education in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University–Commerce.

I began my career in education as a primary classroom teacher in Mesquite ISD. In 2010, I joined Garland ISD, where I taught third grade before transitioning into a campus support role. In that position, I worked alongside teachers to strengthen instructional practices, implement effective behavior supports, and develop classroom management strategies that foster student success. I was an instructional coach for three years before becoming an assistant principal. I have had the privilege of working in this capacity for 13 years.

I am passionate about creating a positive learning environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. I believe all students deserve equitable opportunities to reach their full potential, and I am committed to supporting high-quality instruction that meets the diverse needs of every learner. Building strong relationships with students, families, and staff is at the heart of everything I do.

Outside of school, I enjoy watching football and soccer, camping with my family, and being an actively involved mom. My husband and I are proud parents of three wonderful children.

I am excited to be part of the M.D. Williams Elementary family and look forward to partnering with our students, families, and staff to ensure every Panther has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. I am honored to serve this incredible community and can't wait for another amazing year.
